As a trusted expert in the rule of law and international relations attorney at law Elisabeth Steiner is LGP Senior Expert Counsel (SEC). Elisabeth Steiner studied law and business administration in Vienna before she practiced as an independent lawyer with her own law firm in Vienna for almost 20 years. In 2001, Steiner was appointed Austrian Judge at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg (France) and served at the court until the end of October 2015. Steiner was elected Vice-President of the 1st Section of the European Court of Human Rights in 2011 and remained in that position until the end of her appointment.

Elisabeth Steiner lectures at numerous renowned law faculties in Austria and worldwide. For example, she held classes at the Universities of Stanford, Hong Kong, Beijing, Vienna, and Graz. She regularly maintains professional exchange with national and international colleagues. Elisabeth Steiner is Deputy President of the International Council of Arbitration for Sport (ICAS) and has been serving as Deputy President of the Appeals Arbitration Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) since 1 May 2019.

Her greatest achievements as a lawyer include obtaining compensation for more than 320,000 Ukrainian, Russian, and Belorussian forced laborers of World War II, as well as co-negotiating the Washington Agreement in 2001 which provides a legal framework for the payment of compensation for crimes and injustices committed during the Second World War.
